In Kigali, covering Gasabo and Kicukiro Districts, SolidAct Foundation successfully distributed school materials to 82 students from vulnerable families. This initiative, supported by Shelter Group, is part of our broader commitment to strengthening education outcomes in urban communities.
Who Received Support?
A total of 82 learners benefited, with distributions as follows:
Gasabo District — 50 students
- 35 primary students
- 15 secondary students
Kicukiro District — 32 students
- 2 primary students
- 30 secondary students
This higher representation of secondary students reflects a strategic focus on ensuring older learners are well equipped to complete their education.
Materials Provided
Each student received:
- A school backpack
- Notebooks, pens, pencils
- Drawing books and register files
- Mathematical sets
- Secondary students: calculators & periodic tables
By providing these resources, SolidAct Foundation promotes equal access to academic tools, ensuring students can study effectively throughout the school year.
Next Phase on the Way
Uniforms, sweaters, and shoes have been procured and are scheduled for distribution on 29th October 2025. These additional items will help reduce dropouts and restore confidence among learners.
Education for All—A Shared Responsibility
This Kigali distribution demonstrates the power of partnership and community support. Shelter Group’s contribution made it possible to reach learners who otherwise struggle to afford school materials.
SolidAct Foundation remains committed to supporting children across Rwanda so they can pursue their education with dignity, ambition, and the right tools in hand.
