SolidAct Foundation, in partnership with Shelter Group, continued its mission to make education accessible for all by delivering school materials to vulnerable learners in Rutsiro District. A total of 101 students received essential academic supplies that will support them throughout the 2025/2026 school year.
Reaching Both Primary and Secondary Students
The distribution in Rutsiro covered learners from both education levels, ensuring no child is left behind:
- 38 primary school students
- 63 secondary school students
The high number of secondary students supported reflects the growing need to empower older learners who face increasing academic demands and often lack the required learning tools.
Materials Provided
Each student received a complete school package including:
- Backpacks
- Notebooks & exercise books
- Pens and pencils
- Rulers, erasers, drawing books
- Register files
- Mathematical sets
Additionally, secondary school learners received calculators, periodic tables, and duplicating papers to support their advanced coursework.
These resources ensure students can participate fully in class, complete assignments with confidence, and remain motivated throughout the year.
Impact on the Community
For many families in Rutsiro, buying school materials is a financial challenge. This support reduces the burden on parents and restores dignity to learners who would otherwise struggle to keep up in school.
Students expressed excitement and gratitude, with teachers noting how such interventions significantly improve attendance, discipline, and academic engagement.
Uniforms and Shoes Coming Soon
A contract has already been signed with suppliers to provide school uniforms, sweaters, and shoes. These items will be delivered in the next distribution phase scheduled for 29th October 2025.
This next step will ensure students not only study comfortably but also look and feel confident at school.
A Continued Commitment to Education
With 101 learners supported in Rutsiro, SolidAct Foundation reaffirms its mission to break educational barriers and create opportunities for Rwanda’s future leaders.
Through the support of Shelter Group, we continue to ensure that every child regardless of background has the tools they need to succeed.
